Nadiadwala Grandson’s Rangoon opens in cinemas today and all those who have caught the first glimpse of the film, can't stop raving about how wonderfully the makers have recreated and captured the 40’s era in the film. Set in the backdrop of Bollywood in1944, Rangoon is an epic love story with undertones of battles and betrayals.

Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, the film is being particularly appreciated for its strikingly magical cinematography. It is said to effortlessly transport you to that period as DOP Pankaj Kumar has done a brilliant job in capturing the era as well as magnanimously projecting it.

Shot extensively in Arunachal Pradesh, the film has larger than life sequences that include both action and musicals. Talking about his experience in filming Rangoon, DOP Pankaj Kumar said, “Rangoon was written for a cinematic experience, so everything had to be grand. We chose to shoot in Arunachal Pradesh because it was still untouched and unseen and that is why it looks so beautiful on-screen. Vishal had said to me that everything must look majestic, so I went in with the idea that we are creating an epic spectacle. The experience was hugely adventurous.”

The film was shot on RED's latest 'Weapon6K' with Cooke 5i Lenses. The entire camera equipment for the film was provided by FutureWorks Camera Rental Division. FutureWorks Camera Rental was set up in 2014 and has quickly become a leader in this space being the preferred destination of esteemed Cinematographer’s like Anil Mehta, Ravi K Chandran, Sethu, Mohanan, Ayanaka Bose to name a few and has serviced films like Dangal, Sultan, Raees, Airlift and others.
